Natspolitsiya Cherkasy region has released a composite sketch of a man suspected in the desecration of a synagogue complex on the grave of Rabbi Nachman in Uman. This was reported on the website of national police in Cherkasy region.
According to the police description, the suspect by sight 30-35 years, he has height 175 cm, the right ear in the upper part is deformed due to injury. Also the man was dressed in a light gray jacket, blue jeans and dark brown boots.
Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect, to inform by phone: (067) 397-09-59, (04744) 4-03-66 or 102.
Recall that in Uman, Cherkasy region, on 21 December desecrated the synagogue . A group of neo-Nazis broke into the Jewish grave of the righteous Rabbi Nachman and shouting anti-Semitic insults (the publication notes that they were in Russian), threw a pig’s head carved with swastikas, bags of red paint in the room, using tear gas before fleeing. The vandals also poured the blood of the floor and walls of a house of worship. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Police have launched a criminal case on the fact of hooliganism, but later it was changed under part 3 of article 161 of the criminal code of Ukraine (“Violation of equality of citizens depending on their race, national origin, religious belief, disability and other grounds”).
The public Prosecutor of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko took the matter under personal control, called the incident a rude anti-Ukrainian provocation.
